Supercoe, I hear you. I knew this might be a pipe-dream but I did need to pursue this in your forum. Like I said earlier it's not a biggie and I can happily live with this issue.
Thanks for responding ... Sam

I'm afraid I didn't understand much of what you did, but your solution solved several different problems. All I'm trying to do is get control over the UAC prompt that appears after I install ChunkVNC as a service. Since I am disconnected at that point I can't respond to the UAC prompt and must ...

A quickie regarding UAC
I think quite a lot of ChunkVNC and find it's the next best thing to installing the full UVNC Server. Don't use VNC Single Click any longer for Win7 purposes.
This is a not a big deal, I'll admit it, but I'm looking for a perfection that likely doesn't exist.

Supercoe, thanks for letting me know that I did the best that I could given the absence of a tutorial. I've continued my exploration of running as a service and now have a new question and a request for your wish list.

Newbie Running ChunkVNC as a Service for First Time
I spent quite some time figuring out how to tame WIN7's UAC. This is what worked for me and I'd like someone to tell me if this is the normal way to run as a service.
1. I connected to the Chunk server in the usual way.
2. I select from the server icon "run as service".
3. My session gets ...

Problem Launching Instant Support
I read somewhere, I think on one of these forums, that it's possible to run the repeater, the server and also the Instant Support on the same computer.
Not that I have a real-world reason to do this, I decided to try it to see if it would work. Well it didn't so I thought I'd mention it here.

I've reviewed this problem and from what I can tell there's no way that ChunkVNC's Instant Support can work properly under Windows XP.

Rudi, I don't know what to do with the 2 dlls you just provided. Can you be explicit about what I or anyone should do with these?
Also, I haven't noticed the viewer "freezes" in Full VNC or in ChunVNC, only UVCN SC.

ChunkVNC: InstantSupport throws error when launched
I applied a fix to InstantSuport.au3 to avoid Dreamweaver coming up to edit unblock.js. The fix I applied (supplied in the ChunkVNC forum) is: ; Unblock InstantSupport.exe to prevent "Windows Security" messages.

Re: Can you compile SC without the SystemHook DLL selected.
Does anyone know whether this issue has a solution. On Windows 7 I have found 3 programs so far where the viewer freezes unless the option to not use system hook is selected manually. (Firefox, Spybot 1.6, Windows DVD Maker)

Re: Firefox 4 Hanging...
If turning off the hook driver solves the problem by allowing screen captures and transmissions to the listener, isn't it possible to generate the SC file in a way that accomplishes this? It would be great to have this automated for us.

Thanks for the post Super-Mod. I'll revisit SCPrompt. I did take a look at it and its setup was fairly mysterious. ChunkVNC was much more understandable and straightforward. I'll probably spend some more time with Chunk first since it does work well with WIN7.

I'll probably try 7-Zip to look at the executable because I'm quite curious to see if it's there. However, if it is, the creator must use the one it's already got, rather than accepting a substitute from my uploaded "custom.zip".

Hello. I'm new to ChunkVNC and just got it working, with some difficulty. Biggest obstacle was not knowing what a "repeater" was. I thought it was my router and eventually realized that it was considered a "server". Wow!

It can't work to change the .INI file, Super-Mod. That's not a file I can upload in helpdesk.txt so how can I impart that information, assuming the single click generator even uses it?

I can't set any features since the SC runcode is pre-generated by UVCN. Sure I can tweak the full UVCN package using its "edit settings". I can also select a different driver. BUT, how do you propose I change the capture alpha blending in SC? I'd sure like to try.

I'm trying to implement a single click server on a Win7 Home Premium machine. I've used SC for years XP Viewer to XP server.
