RC18 Logging

I would like to request some more in depth logging mechanism to go along with the latest release. Currently connects and disconnects are logged only when the repeater is not used. It would be extremely helpful if this feature was implemented to work when the repeater is used. As of now only ...

RC18-Major Problems-Please Help

Hi, I am having major issues with setting up a connection using RC18. For our testing purposes, I have one machine which I am running the server and the repeater on. On the second machine I am running the Viewer in listen mode. When I start the repeater all it does is continually scroll... "UltraVnc ...

I have found that there is a logging mechanism using mslogon.log and in the windows event viewer. The problem is that it logs disconnects and invalid connection attempt ie. 14/6/2004 12:47 Invalid attempt from client 10.1.54.157 14/6/2004 9:42 Client 10.1.54.157 disconnected Is there a way to log ...

Event logging

I am trying to get VNC to do more specific logging. As of now it logs to mslogon.log and to the event viewer in windows, which by the way is great. My problem is that it only logs disconnects, does anyone know how to get it to log connects to these logs? Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.

How are you connecting to the internet...are you using VPN, Citrix, etc. Or do you simply just sign into your ISP?

Thanks for the reply...your first part isn't really an issue since we will always be using the plugin for our connections..after that my only question is what is the path and name of the keys that I need to save in the registry. Thanks again. Andrew.

It could be a problem because the 192.168.x.x and the 10.x.x.x address are private IP addresses...and if your two machines are not on the same network they won't connect using those addresses, but since you have a connection it sounds like the two machines are on the same network so I wouldn't worry ...

No problem I wouldn't have gotten my app working if it wasn't for people on mailing lists and forums like this one that is what they are there for. Good luck...let me know if you need anything else. Andrew

No it is really that simple. It does not give you any kind of message telling you that it works. If the checkbox is marked and the plugin is in the listbox and you try to connect and get no error then you know it is working.

First I should warn you that these plugins can be somewhat difficult to work with(see my earlier post). There should be a file named MSRC4Plugin.dsm, this file needs to go in the VNC directory, after that you may need to reboot the machine for it to show up??? Then follow previous instructions. I ...

Not quite sure about the dialup thing...didn't know anyone still used dialup, hahaha. I have only used the MSRC plugin what you have to do there is install it in the same directory as VNC, then start the program (viewer or server it doesn't matter) check the "Use DSMPlugin" box and then select the ...

All you have to do is have the viewer running in "listen mode" there should be an icon for it where you installed it. then on the server machine, run the server and right click on system tray icon, choose "add new client", a dialog box will come up. Type the machine running in "listen mode" ip ...

VNC viewer?

Does anyone know if there is a way to have the "Use DSMPlugin" checkbox selected by default in the VNC Viewer. I have no problem setting the registry keys to do this for the Server but there seems to be no way to do this for the Viewer. Any suggestions?

I have figured that portion out...new problem. Ultra VNC creates a registry entry upon install at Software\ORL\WinVNC3 called DSMPlugin. This entry is a binary value and I know that the first part of that value is represents the name of the plugin, but I need to know what the rest of the values ...

Hi, First off I wanted to say that I really like the new web based forum. Now my issue. I am trying to install UltraVNC on users machines with the MSRC4Plugin configured and selected out of the box. I was able to have it as part of the install package and was able to have it selected in the ...
