drag & drop file transfer

A would like to see a feature that allowed you to drag a file from your computer and then drop it onto the UVNC viewer window. This would initiate a file transfer & place the files onto the remote system's desktop (aka C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop).

Re: SC HowTo for first time users

I have updated the 2 URLs in Post #1. However, a better solution may be PCHelpWare - http://www.uvnc.com/pchelpware/

Re: Getting bounced with MSRC4Plugin 1.2.2

I have not tried SSL Explorer. About the connection attempts, run UVNC on a non-standard port. Pick something between 10000 and 65500. This will make it somewhat harder for a hacker. If you picked port 12345 (which I wouldn't recommend), on the client side you would connect by using "myserver:12345 ...

Re: Getting bounced with MSRC4Plugin 1.2.2

If you want a secure, encrypted UVNC connection, but can not use the msrc4 plugin, try the AES plugin. If this does not work either see my posts in this thread:

Has anyone tried this with the AES plugin instead of the MSRC4 plugin?

Thanks,

Quick way to go from unencrypted to encrypted connection

I just updated about 20 servers from using an unencrypted connection to an encrypted connection. They all use the same rc4.key file. On a server that you have manually turned on encryption... 1) Save the rc4.key and MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm to a folder where you will run the batch file from (see below ...

Re: Where is the on-line generator

The old URL for this is:
http://sc.uvnc.com/index.php?section=19

Would it be possible to have the web server redirect users to the new URL?

Thanks,

Is it true that the end-user side of PCHelpWare must have DirectX installed where as with SC this is not the case?

Have you tries the MS-RC4 plugin instead of AES? Does it crash, too?

Dumb question, but did you verify that you are running the same version of UVNC on both the server & client?

Re: Read EVERYTHING, still can't connect! DSM 1.2.2!

The [winvnc] -- what's inside the [] does not really matter. Just make sure they are the same in each config file. On your VNC client, you will connect to 127.0.0.1:12582. Make sure stunnel is listening on port 12582. You can do this by running this command from the cmd prompt: netstat -an | findstr ...

Re: Read EVERYTHING, still can't connect! DSM 1.2.2!

On the client are you trying to connect (with UVNC) to 127.0.0.1:12582? Also, you need to allow port 12582 through on your router, not port 5900 nor 5800...if the UVNC server is behind the router.

Re: Read EVERYTHING, still can't connect! DSM 1.2.2!

Since you are having a run of bad luck, may I suggest UVNC + stunnel? I have used this combination with great success. Basically, you have stunnel (www.stunnel.org) listening on a local port, say port 23456, on the client side. Tell your vncviewer to connect to 127.0.0.1:23456. On the remote end ...

Does anyone know if this functionality will be built into the next version of UVNC? It would be nice if it were incorporated into the viewer's toolbar.

Sending Alt PrintScreen howto...

I have written an AutoIt script that emulates the Alt-PrintScreen key press sequence. This executable program has to be located and run on the remote system. danzman, When creating your executable, did you use an internal ip, like 192.168.x.y or did you use your real internet IP address? If you used your real address, you might not be able to test within your LAN. I would suggest creating two single-click executables - one with your internal IP and one ...

Don't use those ports numbers. Try using a random port in the 50,000 to 65,000 range. Generally, proxies only intercept traffic on well known ports like 80 and 8080. You also might try port 443.

Single Click Rocks!

I just want to say thanks to all of the SC devs for a great program! I used it for the first time last week to help out a user working from home. And let me say, it sure beats going out to their house to fix a 3 minute problem. I wish the installation docs were a little more clear. Maybe I just ...
