Re: how install DWDM plugin
So, did you copy the plugin as well in the folder of UltraVNC on your Laptop? Is it on the server and on the laptop? Is it activated for use on both sides? It's quite simple - first of all try to connect without encryption. If this works try to set encryption on. If it doesn't work, make trial ...

Re: how install DWDM plugin
Hi Brent, So you wind up with 2 passwords, one for VNC and one for the plugin? Would you recommend SecureVNC or AESV3PluginMT? Seems like SecureVNC would be easier to use but my IT contact likes AES. Thanks, Brent No, you only have one password. The plugin doesn't need another one. My description ...

Re: how install DWDM plugin
Hi Brent, It's quite easy, just put the DSM plugin in the same folder. Afterwards you can check the DSM plugin on the setting screen. After having done this you should inform the people of the Password you set for the plugin. I personally wouldn't send it by email, but it depends where those people ...

Re: SingleClick + Secure Connection stays unencrypted
Hi Cleo, Same question to you, why do you use the old encryption plugin from 2006? Did you see this thread here already: [topic=15840][/topic] You can download the new plugins from here: http://adamwalling.com/SecureVNC/ In my opinion, they are a bit more userfriendly. Just give it a try. :wink ...

Re: CONNECTION FAILED - INVALID PROTOCOL -Vista viewer machi
Hi Ol, It's funny that you're still stuck with the old plugin. Adam (scovel) wrote those some years ago, they still needed those public and private keys. In my opinion not very handy, it makes the whole thing more complicated. The new SecureVNCPlugin is easier to use and already implements those ...

Re: CONNECTION FAILED - INVALID PROTOCOL -Vista viewer machi
Ol, Sorry, but I don't get it what exactly you're trying to do. Why do you use an "old" encryption plugin from 2006? Don't you know, that scovel (the programer of those plugins) doesn't update those anymore? :tomato: Now it's admz, who took a look into them. And he wrote the new plugins. They are ...

Re: CONNECTION FAILED - INVALID PROTOCOL -Vista viewer machi
@Ol, do you think its a good idea (more secure) to use those 3files? it gives me in fact a more secure connection? Server_ClientAuth.pubkey Server_SecureVNC.pkey Viewer_ClientAuth.pkey using the MSRC4Plugin I used to use before, we need to have the same rc4.key file on sever and viewer. what about ...

And in my humble opinion, the AES encryption is safer than the rest of the plugins. Even tough we are talking about theoretical possibilities, I like it more.

Re: The Plugin could not be loaded. Please check its integri
Hi Montag, Let's recapitulate: you got two different servers, one has Windows XP with AESv2 and another one has Windows XP with AESv3? Do those servers have 32- or 64 bit Windows installed? And to the clients - you're talking about 200+ - what Windows do they have installed - Windows 64-bit? Did you ...

Montag,
Perhaps I don't get it right, but don't you use the plugin SecureVNCPlugin64.dsm, which is the newest one for AES?

Adam has written this for x64 and Windows XP, Vista & 7. Have you already tried to use this plugin in your setup?

Montag,
The question is how you set your server and how you set your viewer. Can you make a screenshot of both and show us how you set those?
Thanks,
Cobra

Hi Rudi,
Wow... What a fast reply - better than any paid service support agreement! I'm aware of this workaround. But is there a possibility to save those settings via Admin Properties?
Thanks for your excellent support!

Re: Multithreaded AES DSM Plugin
Hi Adam,
I just tested the new plugin. Everything works fine so far! Now I even can reconnect several times without any issues. Great work!
Is it normal that when I first start the connection that it lasts quite a while until the password popup shows up?

Cobra

Hi redge,
Thanks for the update. Not yet official isn't it? I just found a pre-release in the "1.0.6.0 stable" section. Or is there another download section, where I can take it from?

AESV2Plugin & Vista crashes
Hi guys, I have a strange behaviour with the AESV2Plugin.dsm (Version 1.0.0 RC3). If I run it on a Vista machine with the newest UltraVNC viewer v1.0.5.6, it crashes when I try to make use of the AESV2 Plugin. When I'm not using encryption everything works fine and I can connect to the server. On ...

Hi Sean, I haven't been around for quite a while. As I've seen you wrote some new AES-Plugins. What is exactly the difference between them ( AESV2Plugin100RC1/RC2/RC3) and the "old" AESV2Plugin002.zip which I'm using (and I'm very, very happy with it). As always: Thanks for the good work you do ...
