Re: Simplification strongly requested.

I couldn't agree more. If the purpose is really to be a replacement for Logmein / GoToMyPC etc., then a similar level of simplicity needs to be a central design goal. I currently use SC and I'm quite happy with its functionality -- right now I don't see the advantage of using PCHelpware because it ...

I don't quite follow what you mean by "clicking outside the zone of text"... I replaced the line with new text.

For a direct connection, you're saying I should just replace [HOST] with [DIRECT] in the syntax?

I actually took a look at that post before creating this topic, but changing my settings to static IP and using the DDNS host name severed me from the internet altogether - also, I've already opened port 5900 to the best of my knowledge. Are there any specific intructions you can give me?

The correct IP being the LAN IP (the one VNC gives you)? Assuming that's the case, I've already done so, and still nothing.

Connection issues

I'm behind a router running the latest version of VNC, and while I can connect to and from my laptop <> PC, no one else outside my LAN can successfully connect to me. Are there settings I can alter within my linksys router that allows a connection to go through the appropriate port(s)?
