Re: Updates for Windows 7 UAC and other niceties
I managed to install it as a service by simple adding an Else clause to the If structure and there add the code If IsAdmin() Then InstallService() Exit EndIf from Case "-installservice" But gets an error on the last line of Func InstallSrvice() ShellExecute( @ProgramFilesDir & "\InstantSupport ...

Re: Updates for Windows 7 UAC and other niceties
Well I need it to install as a service right away because some of my users can't successfully complete such a simple task as find a menu from a task icon. All they really seem to be good at is to mess up their computer!

Re: Updates for Windows 7 UAC and other niceties
Has the code above been edited since originally posted? I ask as it doesn't install as a service for me, and looking at the code it appears to need a command line argument to do so, or am I missing something?

Re: Install as service directly?
Compelling argument, I've put it in my notes to add this as a compiler option "Force InstantSupport to install as a service immediately." I've never had Czech beer but it sounds amazing. ;) Could you explain more about how you sign InstantSupport? I've never done this myself. It's quite easy to ...

Re: Install as service directly?
Why not just tell the person that ran InstantSupport to use the tray icon? You'd have to have the local user control UAC prompts anyways. Why should I have to? I sign the InstantSupport.exe with my digital certificate and my customers trust me, but they are often not very computer literate and may ...

Install as service directly?
Hi, unfortunately it's not possible to make a search on "install as service" (silly) :-( so don't know if this one has been up before, but I would like to install as a service at once to reduce one step and simplify further for the users, how can this be done? My experience is that more often than ...

Re: Chat and Filetransfer at the same time, no?
Well most of my customers are well below average when it comes to handle a computer, which is the main reason I need to connect to their desktop as they usually wont follow instructions, or can't I may say. The notepad.exe solution wouldn't work here otherwise it's slick. It will have to do as is ...

Chat and Filetransfer at the same time, no?
Hi! After testing around various solutions for a few days I came to decide for ChunkVNC, I simply like the slick and simple way it utilize UltraVNC, so now I'll finally be able to build a remote support solution that even my (often Pc Muffins) customers manage to understand ;-) Great! However, I ...

Re: All VNC Repeaters
You should definitely add chunkrepeater.pl to the list, [topic=27170][/topic] perfect for us who run our own Linux servers or VPS, not so suited for a shared hosting environment though.

Re: Portable Viewer RS Key
ChunkViewer 3.2 is not backwards compatible with InstantSupport 3.1 3.1 used MSRC4 + preshared key for encryption. 3.2 uses SecureVNC + hashed password for encryption. You will see it say "no encryption" until the viewer is paired with a server. Once the connection begins, SecureVNC takes over and ...
