Re: New Version

I can't get it to connect. I set the group name I set the password I setup an SC and transferred to another PC. I run the SC and it says connecting... On the Viewer I see the ID I created, but the icon is orange. If I right-click the ID and click Setup P2P it flashes for a bit and the goes back to ...

Re: Stable ChunkVNC Repeater - Perl Script

I guess I just don't see big deal with setting it up in Linux? Maybe I should write up a guide but I simply purchased a cheap Linux VPS, used wget to download Karls repeater and ran it with perl. :) The problem is I don't want to pay for multiple servers. If I get an unmanaged VPS, then I might as ...

Re: Stable ChunkVNC Repeater - Perl Script

Well it worked, but didn't work. I was able to run the script, but hostgator.com refuses to allow incoming traffic on any ports for shared accounts. :( Now what? VPS account and I'm gonna have to try and learn linux console I guess... Gonna need some help too. Everything is either difficult and time ...

Re: Compiled, repeater running, but fails to connect to serv

NEVERMIND! It appears my host (hostgator.com) blocks all incoming traffic and will not enable incoming ports for shared accounts.

Compiled, repeater running, but fails to connect to server

Sorry for being brief in my explanations, but I'm having to type this again because the forums forced me to login again and in doing so lost my previous very detailed post I spent half an hour typing! GRRR! I ran compiler with: http://www.mywebsite.com localhost v:5901 s:5501 password Ran repeater ...

Re: UltraVNC Server Property Page

You get weird errors like this if you use non-alphanumeric passwords. For example, when compiling I used an ! in the password. That caused me problems. Compiling with password for the password caused no problems.

Re: Stable ChunkVNC Repeater - Perl Script

My problem with windows is that means using my office connection with the typical limited upload bandwidth. I don't want sudden lags due to someone doing a large transfer at the office. VPS certainly would work, except that I'm lacking in Linux expertise, therefore, I'm leery of putting out money ...

Re: Stable ChunkVNC Repeater - Perl Script

Rat, I'm trying to figure all this out, and like to fully understand what I'm doing before embarking upon a task. That said, I could use some guidance setting this up in a shared hosting environment. So what do I do? Is it as simple as uploading the script to the cgi bin of my web server and ...

Re: Does chunkVNC work for unattended access as well?

Thanks, That's about what I had figuered... I don't have a problem with logmein limiting my number of client machines, the problem is that I really want a fully integrated solution. It sort of sucks to have to use two separate systems... It sounds like using the perl repeater on a web server and ...

Does chunkVNC work for unattended access as well?

I've used Logmein extensively, and their web-based management works great for unattended access, but their instant support is too expensive, which is why I've been looking around for other options. Now I'm sorry if below is a question that's been asked before. But I've installed countless VNC ...
