While I don't know about Windows 7, I can say with great certainty using the mirror driver drastically reduces CPU usage on Windows XP.

My apologies for a delayed response to this.... The problem is most notable when looking through windows event viewer on Windows XP. Closing an event and or moving to the next event leaves plenty of artifacts. That said, version 1.0.9.6 is much improved in this regard. And I have found the problem ...

Not sure really....as the options are greyed out when choosing the "AUTO" (select best settings) connect option.

I will do some experimentation by disabling Auto and manually selecting or deselecting the encoding options.
