use of hostname.local from mac clients

Hello, I recently upgraded from uVNC 1.2.0.3. to 1.2.1.1 on win10 machines. Now when I use vnc://hostname.local it works as usual from a windows (10) client but not anymore from an OSX (10.11.6) client (cannot be resolved). using vnc://IPaddress still works from both clients, though Is there ...

Re: connection issues

Thanks :)
I thought Apple bonjour print service was taking care of making sure computers could recognize each others through .local hostnames....

Using IP addresses didn't work neither. I will try disabling windows firewall to see if I get better results :)

We have Win7, OSX and Ubuntu machines and uVNC deals well with remote desktop software integrated in OSX/Ubuntu and vice versa... Recently I tried using uVNC ...

Re: uVNC and Mac OSX

OK.. Apparently my problems were due to configuration mistakes I made on several OSX machines (If you are interested, ask me for details). However, one problem remains: from only 1 OSX machine, when I try to connect (VNC) to a windows machine (running uVNC server) I get a white blank screen after ...

Re: uVNC and Mac OSX

I'm using uVNC 1.0.8.2 on XP (32bits) machines.
Do you think it could be an XP-specific problem?

[solved] uVNC and Mac OSX

Most of them run OSX 10.6 (updated) with screen sharing (VNC) activated. some of them run XP sp3 (updated) with uVNC server/viewer. uVNC settings on windows machines are identical. screen sharing (VNC) settings on OSX machines are identical. I can connect ...
