OK, heres a wierd one for ya'll. I have a customer running XP SP1, with Novell and cannot get her machine to reverse connect to mine for me to take control. I get the error message "Connection Failed - Error reading Protocol Version" and then it lists possible causes DSM plugin (not used), Viewer ...

yes i did disable the firewall and tried it, opened the ports, made exceptions, etc.... for whatever reason, it seems to be something in sp2 that will not let this happen. i may be mistaken, im just trying to find out if there is a way around it.

I ran into a situation the other day where i was trying to access an xp pc that was in the logged off position. it would not connect. i had all the ports enable in the sp2 firewall and even had exceptions for vnc listed. as soon as i logged on, could connect fine, even if the pc was locked down ...
