How do you set install the patch? Does it work with the MS Logon 2?

I think that the new installer will remove any old version before the install of the new version.

I would also like to see this. I use both Linux and Windows machines. Or is there a viewer for Linux that will work with the MS Logon feature?

If you are behind a router then you will need to set up port forwarding to the PC that is running the UVNC server service. You may want to set up DynaDNS for the machine running the server.

This may seem like a dumb question but are you running the service as a system account or a specific user. Check the properties of the VNC service and make sure that it has Local System Account checked and Allow service to interact with desktop checked also.

On the PC running the UVNC server you need to put the VNCViewer into listening mode. Then when the other PC with the SC tries to connect the server will be listening (on port 5500) for it.

Hope that helps.

If you want an opensource solution to the audio part of the question check out the videolan project. I have used it in the past for streaming audio and video.

I guess what I mean is a client that does not go through the browser at all.

That is the web based piece right? I was thinking a vncviewer for port 5900 instead of the web piece.

UltraVNC Linux Client

I use a couple of different OS's in my network and I was wondering if you have plans to make a UltraVNC Linux client. I know that I can use TightVNC but I like the MS Logon that you have in this system and the other features also.

Thanks.

If your router is using nat then you could probably set up port forwarding to allow the connection. You tell the router that when a connection comes in on port 5900 then direct the traffic to whichever machine is running the VNC server. If you are using a host based firewall (even SP2 for WinXP ...
