ChunkVNC Refresh?

Just curious if supercoe has any intention for a refresh in the near future? New UVNC version, lots of interesting things posted to this forum, and supercoe's own comments about wanting to do a refresh make me want to check in. Thanks to the open nature of the project I've got a pile of my own ...

Re: Different Way to handle UAC

supercoe, I feel you, bro. It's a struggle to even get ChunkVNC running for some of the people I have to support. One of the reasons I love ChunkVNC so much is it's just my logo and a giant number presented to the client, and I still have occasions where "go to my website, click the link, run the ...

Re: Different Way to handle UAC

supercoe - is there something in place to enable install as service when it's launched? I didn't see anything in config last time I built my EXE. Come to think of it, it would be nice to have a prompt "Do you want to install as a service?" when it's launched so it can be skipped on XP machines, and ...

Re: Who wants to try my custom ChunkVNC viewer that keeps a

How much luck are you having with leaving ChunkVNC installed as a service for unattended access? I haven't been doing so because of stability issues I've heard reported and experienced myself. I haven't tried it in a while, but I was fairly often not able to connect when I wanted to.

Re: Repeater interactive on Server 2008 R2?

Like Supercoe says, -install sets it up as a service. I ran it as a service on my old Server 2003 box for years but started having trouble with it staying stable a while back. I figured it was just the flaky nature of the box it was running on so, now that I'm finally migrating all my services over ...

Repeater interactive on Server 2008 R2?

I'm not sure where to post this, there's no sub-forum for the Repeater, but I figured that since Chunk uses it and this section is pretty active, I'd post this here. I'm installing the Repeater on a Server 2008 R2 box for the first time and, although the service automatically starts when it boots up ...

Re: Chunk 3.2 w/ Multiple Displays

Updates: I just went through, same test systems as previously, and did some testing. Replacing winvnc.exe in ...SRC\InstantSupport_Files, I recompiled Chunk 3.2 with: A) As is, with "chunked" UVNC Server 1094 B) with standard UVNC Server 1095 C) with standard UVNC Server 1096 D) with customized UVNC ...

Just checking in...

I don't see much posted recently so I was just curious how goes the next version of Chunk? I'm currently compiling Chunk 3.2 with WinVNC.exe from 1.0.9.6 just to see what happens and I was curious what progress has been made for Safe Mode via Chunk. As always, very large amounts of thanks to ...

Re: Chunk 3.2 w/ Multiple Displays

Thanks Supercoe. As always, beer money I've thrown your way is money well spent. Paid support isn't usually this responsive!

If I get a chance to dig around and do further testing I'll post.

Re: Chunk 3.2 w/ Multiple Displays

Found the previous thread: [topic=16752]HERE[/topic] With the previous Chunk version, replacing winvnc.exe in the Chunk compiler with the patched executable resolved the problem. I haven't tried recompiling with that older EXE yet, mostly because I don't want to revert that far back. If I get a few ...

Re: Chunk 3.2 w/ Multiple Displays

That at least gives me the primary screen without having to toggle the "Select Full Desktop..." button, but I still have the same issue when I enable viewing of multiple displays. I've tested on two other multi monitor servers and get the same thing. My understanding of the previous problem was that ...

Re: Chunk 3.2 w/ Multiple Displays

Weird. I just went back to the basic Chunk3.2 package and recompiled without any changes and I'm getting the same thing - both with the "Chunkized" exe and the main UVNC exe. Of course, all of this is being tested against a "worst case" scenario of a server with 3 displays running at 1280x1024 ...

Chunk 3.2 w/ Multiple Displays

I've been out of the loop for a while and have skipped from Chunk 3.1 and UVNC 1.0.8 to current versions. With the previous version of Chunk (and UVNC,) I used a customized winvnc.exe that Rudi had put together to resolve multi monitor problems where the cursor is displayed to the client on a ...

Re: Repeater Status

Wow. I had a hell of a time finding it again. It may not be a different version after all - I hadn't done anything with it yet, but I downloaded from http://www.uvnc.com:8080/downloads/repeater/83-repeater-downloads.html here and it downloads as "Repeater2010.zip" I just opened it real quick and the ...

Re: Repeater Status

Oops. Re-searched and read a couple more posts and appears it was a Server issue... I suppose I posted a little too soon. Further investigation looks like 108 is included with the Chunk3.2 files. Well, the question still stands I suppose - What repeater is recommended? I have to assume it's ...

Repeater Status

I've been out of the loop for quite a while so I've spent several hours reading posts over the past day or so. I may have missed a reference somewhere to the current recommended Repeater, if so I apologize but could someone enlighten me? From what I can see the 1.082 repeater was problematic (as I ...

Chunk 3.2 / UVNC 1.0.9.4 status

I've been caught up for a while and missed the 3.2 final release until now so I've been going over the posts in the announcement thread. Just wanted to verify that the only difference between UVNC 1094 and UVNC 1095 was the SCHook issue and that it doesn't effect Chunk. That's what I've gotten from ...

Re: ChunkVNC - Free Windows and Mac Instant Support Tool!

Just compiled the latest version, looks good so far. I haven't used the Mac version yet, but I can't follow the directions for it - there appears to be something wrong with the InstantSupport.app file. When I try to extract it I get "File not found" and if I extract the entire ZIP, the file doesn't ...
