Question re "Upgrade"
Hi there: I downloaded the latest stable version today, and found that it offered an option to "upgrade 1.0.8/1.0.9 but not 1.1.0 beta," which is an additional 5.2 MB. I also noticed that the mirror or "hook" driver option is no longer included in the install (I chose the upgrade). Could someone ...

Re: Question re term Hook Driver
Hi Rudy: While connected to the 64-bit computer, I went to Server Properties and tested the Video Hook Driver. The response was "1.00.22 driver access okay." However, it's still much slower. I don't know why. It was faster using the 32-bit version with the failed driver install. Any more ideas as to ...

Re: Question re term Hook Driver
Thanks Rudy, this was a very clear answer. I found out why the video hook driver was not installing in two computers of family members. It's because they have 64-bit Windows; mine is 32-bit. I was atttempting to install 32-bit on theirs (which works), except that the video hook driver installation ...

Question re term Hook Driver
Hi there: For Ultra VNC version 1.0.9.6.2: I'm wondering if someone can please explain the difference between the terms "System Hook," Video Hook," and "Mirror Hook." Are they one and the same? That's System Hook as in "System HookDll," from the Server Property page, accessed by Properties on right ...

Re: DMZ Attempt
Hi B:
Thanks again for your suggestions.
I'm going to borrow another laptop, and test UltraVNC both in and out of my network.
If I cannot connect inside my network, then it's a firewall issue. If I can, then it's a router issue.
I'll be back...
Thanks,
Wayne

Re: DMZ Attempt
Hi B: I tested my ports, and found that 5500 is showing as "Stealth." Not quite sure what that means, as opposed to Open or Closed? Also, there are no additonal settings in my wireless router (a D-Link WBR-1310), such as SPI, VOIP, or traffic shaping, that I can see. I'll try to be back to this post ...

DMZ Attempt
Hi Folks: I'm trying to help a friend who is behind a wireless router. I'm also behind a wireless router. The solution seems to be to have the friend, as a Server, send me a request to access their computer using "Add Client." This should come through their wireless router with no adjustments at ...

Sending request from VNC server
Hi Folks: I've actually been using VNC for a while. These questions may seem simple though, so I'm posting in here. 1) When reversely connecting to the VNC viewer in listening mode, from the server, I click on Add New Client. There are two windows. The upper window, "Host Name," seems to be the I.P ...
