Hi
Thanks for the suggestion. I have already tried this but it has no effect. It's useful if you're using transparent objects but that's not the problem in this case.

Using Mirror Driver
Hi, On a LAN network with various versions of Windows I found that on remote Windows XP computers I could not see videos played on the Windows Media Player in VCNViewer if the format was not AVI. I installed the Mirror Driver and now I can see all types of video FLV, WMV, MP4 etc. played on remote ...

Re: UltraVNC on Windows 8 64 bit
Mystery solved! The XP home computer had a wrong ipnumber in the windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file. There didn't need to be ANY ipnumbers in the hosts file anyway! I have taken them all out and everything is now functioning normally.

Re: UltraVNC on Windows 8 64 bit
Sorry. I've found it in zip UVNC_1_1_9_xp-win7_x86.zip NEW PROBLEM: The 1.1.9.1 vncviewer.exe will run on my XP machines but on one XP machine it fails to connect to the Windows 8 machine if I use the name of the computer. If I use the ipnumber, it works. What would cause this? The one that works ...

UltraVNC on Windows 8 64 bit
Hi, I could use some help please. I use UltraVNC as a complementary module in a "language laboratory" style application. It enables the teacher to see the students' screens while they are working. The teacher can also hear each student's oral work (but this part of the application is independent of ...

Re: Fluttering cursor on remote computer with Alpha-Blending
Hi, Thanks for the info. My second point about unicode has nothing to do with UVNC. I hadn't realised that XP has to be set up for use with other characters whereas Vista is already set up to display all unicode characters. I've been having a lot of trouble since I have begun testing UVNC on XP ...

Fluttering cursor on remote computer with Alpha-Blending
Hi, This is not a serious bug but perhaps someone can explain it. In UltraVNC Settings - Screen Capture I have checked (only) these: Poll Full Screen, Poll Foreground Window, Use system hookdll, Show Primary Display, Capture Alpha-Blending. I need Alpha-Blending to handle a VB.Net app that uses a ...

Re: Cannot see VB.NET window on certain computers
Hi Robert, Two more things, please: - I can't see an 'Apply' button. Maybe I'm not using the latest version of Ultra VNC? - I have another (less serious) dysfunction. When I link to a remote computer to watch its screen, the cursor on the remote screen trembles all the time as long as the two ...

Re: Cannot see VB.NET window on certain computers
Hello Robert, Thank you for your helpful suggestion. You are absolutely right. Do you think 'Capture Alpha-Blending' will always work whatever type of computer is used? I spent the whole day yesterday modifying my programme so that it works without using transparency. I'm not sure whether to undo ...

Re: Cannot see VB.NET window on certain computers
Hello again, I have solved the problem by modifying my VB.NET application. In case anyone else runs into this problem, here is the explanation: On certain types of computer (Dell Optiplex 360 for example), VB.NET forms that use a TransparencyKey color are invisible in UltraVNC VNCViewer used on a ...

Re: Cannot see VB.NET window on certain computers
Hi, Many thanks for your quick reply. Unfortunately, I still haven't solved the problem. I am not using the UVNC mirror driver so I think your first suggestion about disabling the video driver accelerator must be the answer because that would explain why this problem only exists on certain computers ...

Cannot see VB.NET window on certain computers
Hi, I need your help, please. I'll try and make this clear but to me it seems incredibly complicated. I use UVNC to complement an app I have made. The app uses Toolbook mainly but at times it triggers a VB.Net app which displays pictures in a picturebox. Everything worked fine on my computers. I ...
