The VNC server should be pre-installed as a service to get around these issues. You can use regular UltraVNC or something like SCPrompt or ChunkVNC.

Simple answer: neither UltraVNC nor UltraVNC SC runs on Linux. They are Windows-only programs.

With some effort you might get it to work with a Linux version of VNC.

The viewing person could shut down the UltraVNC server manually, instead of just disconnecting. No, helpdesk.txt only refers to UltraVNC SC (single click), not the regular UltraVNC product.
