Re: VNC disconnects randomly
Turns out there was no problem with VNC, but rather the machine running the VNC server. Never found out what the problem was, but when we switched to a different machine, the problems went away.

IdleTimeout
In ultravnc.ini, what is the meaning of IdleTimeout? The default value is IdleTimeout=0...what does it mean to set this value to zero?
I searched the forum, and found only this (which was not particularly helpful):

Re: KeepAliveInterval in ultravnc.ini
What are the units? For example, if I specify a value of KeepAliveInterval=5, is that in milliseconds, seconds, minutes, etc.?

KeepAliveInterval in ultravnc.ini
In ultravnc.ini there is a parameter called KeepAliveInterval. I believe the default value is 5. What is the meaning of this parameter? Is there any documentation for ultravnc.ini?

What is SelectHDESK?
In the server log, I see lots of messages like:
.\vncservice.cpp : SelectHDESK to Winlogon (2c) from 204
What does this mean? What is "SelectHDESK"?

Re: VNC disconnects randomly
Here are the relevant snippets from the viewer and server log files...I hope someone can help me understand this problem - or at least how to interpret these logs. Also, I have two specific questions: Q1: What is the meaning of this progression (from the viewer log): bufsize expanded to 205056 ...

VNC disconnects randomly
Using ultravnc viewer 1.0.5.6, the connection randomly drops - sometimes as quickly as 2-3 minutes, and other times it takes an hour or more. The only suspicious thing I see in the server log is: .\vncservice.cpp : SelectHDESK to Winlogon (2c) from 230 --An existing connection was forcibly closed by ...

client/viewer log
How do you configure the ultravnc client/viewer to log info to a file, and where is that file located? On the server, the logging option is in the admin properties window, but I don't see anything about logging in the viewer options window.
