For example, a simple, if the file is video or audio and greater than 4G in size or 2G in size, then don't bother trying to compress further.
(bump, this discussion seems to have gotten lost from the Feature requests...)

Thanks for the suggestion; however, if I'm forced to run two different VNC clients, then I'll just run uVNC and rVNC... I like uVNC, tightVNC focused too much on JPEG compression and I didn't like the results. uVNC did everything I wanted and great speed, so I was hoping not to change again. If ...

I am being forced to connect to unix vncsession with realVNC to get:
Security Method: RA2
Encryption: 128-bit AES

Encoding: ZRLE

Protocol Version 4.0 (probably vnc ver.)

It would be nice to do-it-all with uVNC ! :-D

I have also had occasion to pass .vob, .dmg, etc. The compression takes two much time...
I agree that resume download might be helpful...
