Did everything you said except I did not set a satic IP. How do you set a static IP? I was able to get vnc server to work on my vista pc hooked up to my network here and was able to use the viewer in xp on the same network.But when I tried to connect to my friends pc remotley I had some trouble w ...

connect to remote machine behind a router

I'm trying to fix a friends computer remotley, how do I setup ultra vnc to connect to his pc if he is behind a router? Also I am running xp with the viewer and he is running the server with vista will that in any way interfere with the connection? Thanks
