I don't believe you can use it that way...
I think, first you have to establish a vpn-connection to your router. Then you can use UVNC like from your network.

Re: Server-Scale by default possible?
In the viewer, go to options, select your desired scale, OK
Then select "Save connection settings as default" - that's it

Re: 1.0.9.6.3 mouse+keyb don't work
I switched back to 1.0.9.6.2. First it didn't change anything. Then i deinstalled on the "watched" computer, removed all remaining registry-entries containing ultravnc and uvnc, reinstalled 1.0.9.6.2 an then it worked.

Server closed connection - the server running as application
Since a while (even after upgrade to 1.0.9.6) i'm getting an error "Server closed connection - the server running as application" when trying to log on to another machine when using viewer-version >1.0.9. When using viewer 1.0.9 everything works fine connecting to the same machine. I even ...

Re: What is the uVNC "service"
If it runs as service, you can log on at the logon-screen from remote.
If it doesn't, you first have to log on local at the machine, then run the serverprocess and then you can log on from remote.

Re: Problem with screen size (VNCviewer)
What do you mean: Too small ?
Too small for what ?
You can change the scale of the window to 125% or 150% if that helps you !?

Re: file-transfer function
I have a similar problem using areca for backup:
Locally the backup works fine, remote the backupprocess aborts because one file is "writeprotected" on the remote destination (!?) - seems to be a problem of my FritzBox.

Re: low-privilege user to start winvnc
If you don't select "install as a service" you don't need administratirve priveliges (i think). You can start winvnc manually than.

Autoscale
Using the autoscale option works fine, if you connect to a pc having a larger resolution than the own pc. Connecting to a pc with a lower resolution results in a magnification (i.e. 106%) which is hard to read. An option downscale would be nice: Downscale larger resolutions to fit but not blowing up ...
