Re: PHW server able to run without user input?
Thanks for the reply. I actually did just find that by reading far enough. This works great and my program can execute the remote session. Is it also possible to remove the login screen on disconnect? Whenever I close the viewer, the server again pops up the login screen, asking for a username and ...

PHW server able to run without user input?
I'm been having some fun with PHW the last few days and wanted to see if it's possible to run the server without needing user input. Why? I'm working on an MSP application that will use remote support. My plan is that if I need remote access to the client, I can send a command to my MSP program that ...

Re: UVNC - Over HTTPS, no client
HTTP is not VNC both are different protocols
so what is possible for VNC might not work for HTTP
a suggestion : carry the VNC client with AES key on your USB disk
or setup OpenVPN with X.509 cert auth and open VNC to that network

Re: authentication feature
good ideaz almost already implemented as SC http://uvnc.com/pchelpware/sc/index.html So if modify step it through it would be like this: my additions are in red 1. User requires support 2. User calls support and provides ip address and downloads a customised SC from somewhere 3. Support initiates ...

Re: Can't surf on the server...
page not found means a firewall or a router is blocking the direct connection to the ultravnc server.
try finding out all you can about the internet gateway firewall and gateway device, and debugging it from there.

Re: How to use VNC over the internet?
to use vnc over the internet you need the port number of the ultravnc server exposed publically ie you should see the internet ip address when you take your mouse over the vnc icon. if you cannot see that you will look into port forwarding, every setup has a different way of opening a port / do port ...

Re: Online/Offline Status based on Viewer?
you could easily make this sort of thing using php, open a socket to the server ipaddress or host name to the port where the vnc server is in listning state, poll at every perdefined interval and depending up the status of socket opening make the image on the webserver go online or offline.

rights checking like PAM in linux can be done in the windows world using active directory - you can use the uses like acl and can limit them by ip address, time and a lot of other constraints

Multiple NICs and Port Forwarding
I've got a laptop I want to VNC into. It's got wired and wireless interfaces. They'll both be connecting to the same router, but I don't know how it will be used or how the reception is. So, either one, or both, could be available to me. So, how can I set up port forwarding on the router to handle ...

Re: Some questions about security
I can use OpenVPN to make an encrypted tunnel through the internet from my pc to my laptop(or vice versa). I can then let UltraVNC establish a connection through this tunnel from my laptop to my pc(or vice versa). In this way both my pc and laptop are more protected, then using only the UltraVNC ...

another thing : using 2 overlapping security suites will generally result in some kind of problems down the road, so i recommend removing either bitdefender or norton 360 and keep using the other one
