Re: Easiest and fastest option

InstantSupport is compiled for only one Repeater which is why there are 2 versions for the public Swiss and German RTR versions. When you compile InstantSupport yourself it will only connect to the Repeater you specify. ChunkViewer is compiled for only one Repeater as well and it must match the ...

Re: Easiest and fastest option

Thanks! I found that the person needing support does not need to download a Swiss or German version. In fact even if I am running a repeater, the Instant Support piece is the same. My piece to connect is the only one that is different. It could be Swiss, German, or my own repeater. Is that correct?

Easiest and fastest option

I work with a variety of outsourcers and have found the Chunk Viewer ready-to-run version the easiest to use to remote to an outsourcers computer in various countries. I notice that there are Swiss and German versions. There is a the instant support piece that they run to give me a code. Then there ...

single-click running correctly but error on close

I have tried testing the exe I built with several friends. It works like a charm but when exiting, the user always seems to get the "program compatibility assistant" which asks whether to "reinstall using recommended settings" or "this program installed correctly". I would rather that error not ...

Re: SC WORKING -- yahoo!, how-bout that repeater thing

The ChunkVNC project is designed to make this setup easy. Perfect. It sounds like the next natural progression then. I understand that there is more of a chance of a security issue on the end-user side that might prevent them from connecting. I 'interpreted' based on some badly put together data ...

SC WORKING -- yahoo!, how-bout that repeater thing

I have the SC working and have confirmed that I can do remote help desk for folks from afar. I have a "ready for production" copy now with the encryption added and working, and with all my graphics and chosen text. I have dyndns configured for my dynamic IP and all is well there too. What trouble am ...

single-click uvnc

I have gotten the UVNC SC tool working by putting a local ip into the helpdesk.txt file. That is to say that the trouble I am now having is with respect to internet as it now does work locally. The port scanner I use to determine if the correct port 5500 is actually forwarded and open, (http://www ...

Re: putting it all together

But please note, many of us have stopped using the original SC project in favor of single-click VNC alternatives including SCPrompt and ChunkVNC, which are both discussed a lot in these forums. ChunkVNC has a very simple installation instruction page, and you won't have to deal with the vncviewer ...

Re: putting it all together

Thanks for the tip about how it's backward and about the port. So that is to say that the "server" part of VNC is not needed to make this work, correct? Only the "viewer" in listening mode needs to be installed on my machine. I am unsure how to tell if I am in listening mode or not. Double clicking ...

putting it all together

I have tried to use this product and it's single-click add-on at http://www.uvnc.com/addons/singleclick.html to create a single-click option for my customers to connect to me. I have my own reasons for wanting to use it instead of other tools. I have been able to load VNC and connect to the tester ...

UVNC Project

I placed a project to put all this together with add-ons on my website and posted it to the India community on Elance. I expect that nearly everyone in here is American and therefore will want substantially more money. I thought I would mention the project in here anyway. If UVNC functions as well ...
