Re: Ultravnc with Cyberghost VPN
Sounds like the problem is the VPN configuration. I'm not familiar with that one so I have nothing to suggest beyond looking there.

Re: Unable to connect to client PC
The only thing that jumps out to me is that you have static IPs and had to manage them lately. If you can, shut down the computer you are trying to connect to, and then try pinging that IP again to see if you still get a reply. If so, that would mean you have two devices using the same IP. Just ...

Re: Can a fullHD server be set to a virtual resolution of 4K
I'm not familiar with TurboVNC, but [any] VNC on Windows connects to screens/monitors that already exist. There is a virtual monitor now available in uVNC that likely has a lot of size options available, but I haven't used it myself yet. I would assume the option in the screenshot is to match the ...

Re: Comment se connecter automatiquement à UltraVNC
I had to use Google translate, so hopefully this is accurate: "I want to realize an advanced configuration allowing the user to log in automatically without giving the user IDs and password every time. I have looked a lot this week and I find no solution to be able to establish this configuration ...

Re: VNC Listen Mode: Random "Connection Failed Invalid Proto
You'd have to implement something on your side to filter/block the port scans. You can limit what IPs can connect or just turn off access in the firewall until it's needed. I'd HIGHLY suggest you use encryption if you're going to make that service available directly on the internet. Also, I would ...

Re: Vnc Password
I knew the password was in an .ini file but didn't know it could be decoded that easily. If this is the case, there should be a large text informing about it. I understand that you can enable the only plugin SecureVNCPlugin64.dsm but is it safe? Why does the program not use this plug-in by default ...

Re: Multiple servers, multiple monitors
I can't answer #2 because I'm only just now using the version that supports multiple monitors well, but for #1 just run a single instance of uVNC and allow multiple connections. Of course everyone will have control over the same cursor/input, but that's due to this being remote control software and ...

Re: Failed to get server address
The list is stored in the file: options.vnc This file is found in the same folder as my VNCViewer.exe, but I'm not sure if that's always the case. "Failed to get server address" means the name you entered cannot be resolved to an IP address. It's not a VNC problem, but rather a name resolution ...

Re: Issue with MS Logon
I've been testing uVNC in application mode so I can more quickly test a setting, stop it, change a setting, start it, etc. Turns out, MSLogon auth doesn't work unless uVNC is running with Administrator credentials. My VNC folder is in 'Program Files' so I'm not sure if that's affecting the required ...

Re: Issue with MS Logon
I use uVNC 1.2.2 with MSLogon on Windows 10 without issue. I just started trying 1.3.3 dev8 and the only problem I have is the authentication is never successful. If I turn off MSLogon, I can connect via password just fine.

If your router supports it, you can also open a port but restrict it to one or more public IP addresses.

Re: Long lag from server to client
UltraVNC works pretty well in a myriad of environments and conditions, however you have to tweak the settings until you find one that works best for you. Research all the settings available to help determine which one best fits with your network conditions. You could also provide a lot more detail ...

Re: Custom Image for Screen Blanking
I would love the screen blanking feature to be improved. I know MS broke it a while back with some underlying video changes, but something better would be nice. At least a message letting anyone in front of the server know it is being controlled and to have some patience...

Just an FYI, the person who wrote the MSLogon enhancement no longer works on this project. We're pretty fortunate it works as well as it does because I don't think any changes have been made to that part of the project in a very long time.

Re: Feature: Add Address Book
Just use name resolution. If DNS is an option then use the DNS name of the computer as registered. If not, add entries to your computer's HOSTS file:
192.168.1.100 Joe
192.168.1.105 Bill
Then you can connect to Joe or Bill instead of the IP address.

Then you can connect to Joe or Bill instead of the IP address.

Re: change login password
The password is defined in the ultravnc.ini file. Just create a new one (ultravnc.ini) that contains the new password you want, and then overwrite that file on all the affected computers. Restart the uVNC service or the computer completely for the new password to take effect.

There is no official UltraVNC application for this, but there are some 3rd party software I've seen in the past that does it. I found several results after a quick look on Google. One example is VNCScan which can be found here: http://www.bozteck.com/vncscan/ I've even seen a post about this product ...

If you get something workable without requiring root access, I would be interested in what you come up with. Although, it appears Droid VNC does require root.

Re: android server has wrong colors
It sounds like you've worked out the issue on your own. The Android server is at fault. You can try to work with those developers to see if they will do anything about it. I've not found a usable VNC server for Android since all of them require rooting the phone or connecting a phone via USB cable ...

Re: Help needed- with few question
1) You can only map a single port outside to a single port inside. There are software solutions that can allow what you want (namely a repeater), so you can look there if interested. The simple solution is to open up more ports on your router. Examples: publicIP:5900 -> privateIP1:5900, publicIP ...

Re: Single Sign-On
uVNC doesn't support SSO itself directly. Since uVNC can take a Username and a Password as command line arguments, you can write a program that requests the Username/Password once and then always passes it to VNCViewer.exe so you don't have to do it manually each time. Here's a quick and dirty HTA ...

Re: General Question Regarding UltraVNC and MacOS
The server needs to be running on the computer you want to view remotely. If you are trying to view the Mac, you need a VNC Server running on the Mac.
