Re: Option to disable zip compression during file transfer

Wow. That's a very disappointing response.
Thanks, not appreciated.

Re: Option to disable zip compression during file transfer

Any progress on this? I just sent 40Gb to the remote host (a directory with a bunch of RAR files in it). It took ages to compress it. Whatever the compression is, it needs to be turned off. I would have saved me an hour of wait time and electricity bill. If you're concerned about a bazillion files ...

Re: 1.2.0.6 bug: Disabling local inputs disables some remote

No worries, I was not clear I guess. It's better to ask twice. I have a PC here (remote) and a PC there (local). I am controlling the PC there with VNCViewer. The local behaviour is not consistent and the culprit seem to be the setting that disables local input. F12 is an example, there may be more ...

Re: 1.2.0.6 bug: Disabling local inputs disables some remote

Of course it is.
Remote keypresses should all go through regardless how local keypresses are handled - no?

1.2.0.6 bug: Disabling local inputs disables some remotekeys

Have a server running and make sure: - you have disabled local input in the server settings - you have an app running that detects keypresses. Now, connect using viewer from a remote PC and tap 'F12'. Nothing happens. Turn off the "disable local input" setting on the server. Now, connect using ...

Re: Ultra VNC Listening not working

I saw some weird messages in the log saying that sockets not being used correctly or something.
I had a look at the firewall rules and then I realized that WinVNC.exe was disabled on the firewall.
(I imported firewall rules from another PC.)

Thanks!

Re: Mirror driver

Nope, won't work, tried that.
What worked was the addon package installer:

Re: Change in window border after re-connecting

Hi all, I have the same problem on 1.2.0.6/Windows 7 x64/mirror driver enabled. I am using my friend's PC overnight to mine resources on a Flash game. I have the auto-click script set up and it runs just fine when I am there. The script is running perfectly on the maximized browser window. So, I ...

Re: Ultra VNC Listening not working

I just installed UVNC 1.2.0.6. When I hover over the icon on the tray, it says not listening. I stop the server and run the setting editor: accept sockets connection is unchecked! I enable and set port number manually. I click ok and start it again - settings are there. I start the uvnc service ...

Re: Mirror driver

How do you install the mirror driver?
Running the .bat file as admin does nothing.
Right click and install on the .inf file says it's not supported in the INF file.
Windows 7 x64 SP1.
Thanks!

Bug: UltraVNC causes software crash on remote host

Hi there, it's been bugging me since ages; I was hoping it would be fixed without me having to file a report. Setup: x64 client, running on: Windows 7 x64 SP1 + all hotfixes to date x86 server, running on: Windows 7 x86 SP1 + all hotfixes to date Firefox 26.0, Adobe flash plugin 11.9.900.170 Server ...

No link to source code on that page.
Thanks for fixing.

Edit: the "Server Only 1.0.6.5" link seems to be broken, too.

Re: 1.0.4 RC16 - Serious security issue - password truncatio

Well, I would not think that adding a label to the UI or an additional check and a dialog when user presses ok would slow the program down.
Just a thought.

Re: 1.0.4 RC16 - Serious security issue - password truncatio

Thanks redge,
this is fine, but I do not think that it is a good practice to bury such information in FAQs. It should be on the UI in one way or another - written as a label, or given as a warning when the user changes the password.
Would that be doable? Thank you.

***Edit
Fixed lame typo

1.0.4 RC16 - Serious security issue - password truncation

It seems that 1.0.4 RC16 does not check the entire password; only a truncated portion of it. Enter a long password in admin properties, for example: mypassword2008 Now, log in with your client enter this pass: mypassword20 It will work like a charm (I guess shorter ones will work, too). I wonder how ...
