Thanks for the suggestion Lenisham, I might change browsers anyway, but I have solved my problem. It was very simple really (as expected). I had reinstalled the machine with XP Home, then applied SP2. One thing I missed was to install a java runtime environment. I had assumed (incorrectly) that IE6 ...
