Re: Update 1.1.8 (Stable) download +info
@ Rudi This replace sendbuffer=xxx when it's supported. *service *win7>= The ultravnc.ini set the start sendbuffer value. And "adaptive packet " change the sendbuffer is auto changed based on the network type and packet los. Shouldn't this also work on Vista? TCP Auto Tuning was introduced with this ...

Re: Update 1.1.8 (Stable) download +info
What is required for the "-adaptive packet size ( bigger on lan/ smaller on wan... depend on the recorded packet loss: works only as service)" feature to work? Is this fully automatic or require an entry in the ultravnc.ini? Is it overridden by the sendbuffer=xxxx setting 1.0.8.0 added or does it ...

You should be able to use %SYSTEMDRIVE% for all Windows OS's
path=%SYSTEMDRIVE%\UltraVNC would be for your example

Re: time before creating connection
I'm not sure of adding a delay to connection. The client could connect you at the end of their workday and as long as you had the -autoreconnect switch set it would be connected and waiting for you when you got home. If it must be done at a certain time, construct the server with one address only ...

Re: Release: SCBuilder 2009 (based on 1.0.5.3) Vista Compati
hi, I'm trying to use SC with repeater. All works fine in mode2 but i have 1 question : -Is it possible in SC Server to ask user which ID to use ? Did you try building it with "????" for the repeater ID? I'm not 100% certain it will work that way given the way this sets the connection info and ...

Re: How easy is this for a non-computer person?
If you use the SC version and set it up with a single direct connection, it's as simple as them clicking on the .exe and running it. This is assuming you can place it in a web accessible location such as a website. If you email it, they will have to rename the file extension, or unzip, navigate to ...

False positives with AutoIT .exe's are usually from compressing any included sub .exe with UPX. If this is what happened using 7zip to build your self extracting .exe may be better idea.

Re: Release: SCBuilder 2009 (based on 1.0.5.3) Vista Compati
Nitr0, great job so far. A few issues I have found so far: Aero does not disable. I manually edited the bin\ultravnc.ini to set RemoveAero=1 and rebuilt, it works then. The GUI is not setting it though. On reboot and reconnect the remote PC gives Open File - Security Warnings on \Temp\vnc\Server.exe ...

If you are using individual ports why are you using the repeater? The direct method may be a better choice. The helpdesk.txt can be edited to have multiple hosts (mine has a list of 35).

Re: SC v1.0.5.2 with autostart & autoreconnect. Works on
It also seems the -autoreconnect switch is not working in Vista. If the connection drops or listener window is accidentally closed the connection doesn't come back unless reconnect is selected from the tray icon or the system is rebooted. It also needs to be saved and run, not run directly from a ...

Re: SC v1.0.5.2 with autostart & autoreconnect. Works on
On the Ilexius build it seems that UAC needs to be in Quiet Mode for it to allow reboot and reconnect in Vista unattended. If UAC is normal mode it throws a UAC prompt asking the user to click Allow before it will reconnect. On a real PC the screen refresh is great on VMWare 6 it has variable 15-60 ...

Re: how to work out the User Account Control (UAC)
I use the SC version of PCHW, so it is not running as a service to my knowledge. If you are looking for typical client/server install this is likely not going to work and you need to look at the normal UVNC 1.05 for Vista. My method works on the SC version to allow full interaction with the remote ...

I use the single click version of PcHelpWare in this manner and it works fine. In Quiet Mode UAC is not fully disabled, all that has been done is the Secure ...

Re: how to work out the User Account Control (UAC)
A quick and dirty way is have the other party put UAC in quiet mode using TweakUAC, you should be able to work unhindered after that.

Re: avg detecting as a trojan
The 1291 definition was the culprit. I submitted a report and a zip, AVG replied within an hour and had the 1292 update out (not sure if being a Grisoft affiliate helped speed things).
The same definitions are used by both the Free and Pro versions.
