Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!
Fair point but we have had no end of issues with that and being as we have continued to use and develop ours, we thought it was only fair to release it for others to use if they wish. We are not here to compete with anyone.

Hello all! For all of those waiting for more of a fully functional release from NiTr0, feel free to try this out. It fully disables UAC and Aero on initial connection and reenables on disconnect with all usual features of SC (Post #182) [post=55673][/post] I hope no one thinks i am trying to steal ...

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!
Hi johnhct It would turn off aero, but the only way to turn it back on is to kill the aero.exe on the process list. It sounds more like the aero.exe is being blocked its self. We have had this issue before. It seems that even tho the autoit script requires admin, it doesnt always work. I would ...

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!
And can you confirm that the desktop composition had been turned off? (as in no Aero transparency)
We do sometimes find that the aero doesn't turn off correctly meaning you get the connection but it is slow in responding, just as you say.

How to you mean you used autoit to create the sc.exe for clients?
Do you mean you downloaded the SC_VNC_Autoit and used that to create the SC.exe?

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!
Hi edjack,
No that is not normal. The helpdesk should being in the "SC_VNC_Files" which is a sub directory from where the compile.cmd is.
Have to made any changes to the Compile.cmd or the SC_VNC.au3?
If so, post the contents of either and i will take a look for you.

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!
The Mediafire link is one of the ones posted by us and is one of the older builds. I would suggest using a later one from caramel or a later version from one of the other guys but i would suggest that until the UAC is turned off in one of the exe versions, the autoit version is the best to use as it ...

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!
Hi Guys, There seems to be alot of questions coming up about UAC. All i will suggest is that you read the rest of the post above which does disable UAC without a reboot and also fixes your problems with disconnections when the UAC windows pops up. (because it wont) Try one of the builds from Caramel ...

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!
Hi mblochi
All you need to do is edit the helpdesk.txt with your IP Details once done. hit compile like you say, then run it like you would the standard Single Click on the remote machine you want to be able to control.
Thats all there is too it.
Let me know if you need any further help.

Hi NicePants
You are looking at the wrong one, I created that download as VeryBusy requested it. Try the link from Caramel. It contains all of the same stuff without the prompt.

Hi verybusy
I just took a look in my lunch we now have a new build we comes up with a minor error at startup but otherwise works fine without the cleanup bit at the end of the remote session.
Give it a try and get back to us.

Re: VNC prevent connection disconnect for normal users when
Hi Greta, We have just run the test again and it all works perfectly. The only two things that I can think of are either 1) You are not running the latest build from Caramel and Us or 2) The fact we are running the SP1 RC1 Refresh version on our test machine for some other testing could mean it is ...

Re: SC Blue Screens Me
The SC we created with caramel does focus on Vista but my main reason for saying was that ours does not run any drivers. I have always had problems with drivers and I prefer to avoid them if I can.
I was just suggesting your give ours a try and see how things go.

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!
It was a very simple change. We looked at the post you referred us and worked out the basics. It runs the scprompt.exe to get the IP and port ect then once the details have been submitted, it calls the winvnc.exe and follows pretty much the same process. All we had to do was a quick find and replace ...

Read all of the posts above and tell me where exactly we accused you of distributing files with viruses. Also, our script writes to the registry the backup _vnc keys. That’s where our versions differ, take a look at our script and you will see. The point being that there is no backup file for a reb ...

You are also missing a point in what I was saying. I could see that you exe is clever enough to cache the registry settings but… if you start the exe then terminate it in an incorrect way to simulate a crash what is supposed to happen then? There is no recovery to the registry keys at all. I think ...

Hi Greta, please see privious post....
With regards to the source, we are not going to be releasing it publicly for the time being as there is a company (which we bought our support software from) which would benefit from this allot and to be honest, we don’t want to do them any favours.

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!
Good way to do things, but we currently like it running a script as we include several extras in our script like systeminfo output to a txt file on the remote machine. This can be done in code but would be a bit harder for the 'standard' user cannot modify unless they setup a dev Also, we have just ...
