you have to give the server time to start running lots of startup programs and crapware slowdown this a lot I have no issues with what you describe.

I cant get a remote connection to be stable on a vista PC over wan regardless of settings to my knowledge a lots of updates must be done to SC.

from my pont of view I thing it would be impossible to implement connection via repeater with hostname. This is because Host name is used only via LAN not WAN for wan you use IP/dynDNS only. using a viewer is different then using java via FF or IE just the fact that jave viewer does not support encryption si enough for prompt not to come up. dsm checked on server java not ok rc4 key though you may not see iy its there by default on server install path its just a exchange of encryption ...

erm I dont understand you completly but if your running uVNC with video driver (hook driver) directX is disabled on server machine, normal.

do not select auto connection settings use manual zywrle and 256 colors over wan on lan its ok to use auto.

yes you must click icon on toolbar 3 icon counting right to left then select then you will see cursor is now a circle just click any active window you wish to see and ignore all others

java viewer does not suppoort rc4.key and dsm plugin via port 5800 if enabled thats what you get nothing.
to use java viewer must disable dsm and rc4.key.
suggest connect using viewer 5900 and it will support dsm and rc4 key ok.

8 characters is maximum rest gets ignored adding support on uVNC more then 8 will break a lot of stuff and compatibility with protocol as well...
Suggest you stich to 8 characters and use rc4.key and dsm plugin for security.

Version 1.02 is way old news erm we on 1.0.5.2 now and I know for a fact that Java will support encryption just what type yet Im not sure. See theres a problem Theres is way too much coding work that needs doing and not enough hands working on the code be it uVNC or JAVA or website or anything else ...

For someone with a name of an imortal you should knoiw this backwards.... How about FTP? I use FTPservers and clients to do large file transfers theres plenty out there free. same principle of VNC only FTP is used only for file transfers but you need a server and a client passwords and user account ...

Hell I never tried setting up a smb share via uVNC but I guess same principles apply. But map a network drive well you can do just about anything with uVNC except plug in stuff phisically on other PC... but you wont be able to monitor waht you want using uVNC...
