Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!

Update - see first post added file links for my current version..

includes Radeon's aero disable etc

versions posted are the ones i use on a day to day basis supporting my clients

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!

@brainwave64 my sc is around 490k but i have not really played around too much with compression (gotta get time to do that), also i compile with ansi support for backward to 98 compatability that may make it slightly larger i don't know... the biggest thing with mine is that it is replaceable while ...

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!

@brainwave64 :-) not to burst your bubble but the only reason i did not do the batch file in autoit was size. i use autoit to wrap the whole product so as to make the initial exe replaceable while connected. including an autoit script inside involves adding around 300k to an already larger-than ...

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!

dyndns has a url that you can hit to update your ip so you just add that to your fav and click it to make dyndns point to you :-) the other way around being at differing locations all the time involves using a repeater either one of the ones provided by uvnc or setup your own on a static box ...

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!

personally i have mine setup on a dyndns address so i just change that and point it to wherever i am. i have not taken much notice but i don't think you get a prompt when aero is turned back on.. you just get the aero effects back..ie transparent title bar etc. the aero should return to it's ...

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!

easiest way i have found to get computername is open a cmd promt and type "hostname" having the computername you are connected to in the statusbar would require code changes to the winvnc.exe and/or the vncviewer.exe niether of which have been modified during the course of this thread. you could ...

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!

just cleaned my autoit version for realease.. - uses radeon's aero.exe (renamed to aero_disable.exe as aero.exe has potential to conflict and 'taskkill /im aero.exe' could kill a process that we didn't mean to kill) - Disables 'PromptOnSecureDesktop' and also 'ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin' (if user is ...

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!

rofl... i was playing around trying to find a way around UAC prompts being inaccessable to the vncviewer... found that if you change the reg key "ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin" to 0 you get no prompt just full admin rights... ie run a prog as admin and up it comes full admin no prompt :-) (and no ...

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!

radeon ... nice work !! it seems we have cracked it and vista is finally supportable via vnc i have edited my version since posting original one to use an autoit wrapper instead of a straight 7z one so that the initial exe can be repaced while connected (handy for "helping" clients with updates.. ie ...

Re: Hide ip adress in the custom

imho what you are trying to achieve is not only dificult and time consuming but is completely useless anyway even if you do get an ecrypted helpdesk.txt file and get it working and completely stop decompile to get at it... all the end user has to do is netstat. netstat will show all the currently ...

Re: Hide ip adress in the custom

... not possible the sc exe is an archive that simply exctracts the files you see into a temp directory and runs winvnc.exe... the winvnc.exe in there is a customised version that will read the helpdesk.txt and then display the gui. you could wrap the files into a different installer - eg NSIS or ...

Re: SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!!

I have no vista to check at the moment but when I look into your code I see you set some registry keys and install a driver. The question I have is do you need administrator privileges to do this or may a simply user also install this. Second question is where need I the diver for. yes you do need ...
