if you need it for now, a work around you can make a batch with gnu http tunnel

i dont see the reason for all this,
if you wand you can just set up dyndns address to to you and create a SingleClick or use ChunkVNC so user can start it when ti is needed only... futrthermore you bypass firewall from their side etc

since as you see there isnt much updates in SC, the problem will continue for some , time.. without "try and find" i dont think you can find an "easy" solution you may use the two other available solutions for instaless support ChunkVNC which is based on UltraVNC and PCHelpware (on uvnc.com too ...

i had issues until i recompile it with this
only problem i have is tha in some vista version, if i try to change the colros AFTER teh connetction established it crashes

used DSM plugin no password saved
, saves (at least here at xp ) if no plugin is selected.

imho it should , at least for now, quit with a message and does not close "preinstalled" service..

hello i come across a problem to my tess :0 i have try ChunkVNC compiled "InstantSupport" to some machines, who already have another vnc server installed. InstantSupport fails with a message "another instance is running", furthermore if i close chunkvnc closes the "other" server. wondering for a ...

i dont know about RealVNC But Ultra VNC can save all connection info of the viewer host,port etc so you just click a shortcut

another idea...
if you run also the java viewer you can create a shortcut of the link so the user just clicks the link opens inside the browser and it is ready to use

when i click save connection info as ask me for save password i answer yes
but its not it continues to ask it

in the .vnc i see password to be zeros vie

why can`t one just send keys as they are pressed? for example send a CONTROL_DOWN event, a SHIFT_DOWN event etc in my opinion the current special key handling is extremely dumb. I mean guess what: I am inside Notepad++ or SciTE and I press CTRL+Z or CTRL+D ..... or what-so-ever key combination and ...

AFAIK and to my understanding the "key" is just broadcasted in the begining of a transaction
thought ANY key you make will be consider as "the key" and both client and server will encrypt data with this key (Any key you make)

if you mean that you need to connect to a local network with 2 computers from outside.

you need to configure your router to portforward specific ports to specific IP's

i.e. forward port 5900 to 192.168.1.2 and 5901 to 192.168.1.3

you can set up a ftp server to one and all computer

access then easily (at my computer you can add ftp locations as simple folders)

transfer files is done using the file-transfer window its a button on top of viewer saying "filetransfer"

about local printing AFAIK no

as a "workaround" you can setup a VPN between you and remote machine ,share your printer, and install it as a network printer in remote machine

btw does VNC Enterprise Edition does printing ?
