Should be able to click on Start/Log Off (on the host). This will kill the remote desktop session.

or -

Open the task manager (on the host) and log off from there.

OK - I fixed it myself. Here's what happened.

TAKE NOTE
On the viewer you HAVE to use ID:nnn

ID must be in UPPER CASE NOT lower case, ie... id:nnn

Make sure no VNC server is running. Use task manager/processes to kill any VNC servers or use the services console to stop vnc servers.

Midtoad was right. You have to log off, not just close, the RDP connection, otherwise windows keeps the account active (still logged in on a "virtual" windows account). When you try to log in with VNC you'll get the windows welcome screen and you'll be trying to log in to an account that is already ...

yes...once you're on the remote system just open the VNC settings for that host and change the password.

log off

then log back in with the new password.
