Re: deiconify on bell??
Hey thanks for the quick reply! Just kidding, I just *HAD* to make a comment seeing a reply to a three-and-a-half year old message. Funny I had this topic set to notify me with replies. Seriously, though, thanks for the answer, NoFastidies. I'm guessing "de-iconify" means having something to do with ...

I'm looking to upgrade a couple remote servers as well and could use some assistance on the best menthod about doing this. I realize this is a dead topic from a few years ago but I was hoping someone else has used createinstall or knows of an easy way of remotely updating ultraVNC servers. I haven ...

Re: viewer freezes with black screen
@gbinnovations: No, I didn't resolve this. I still suspect the AOL software. I'm not going to solve it, acutally, because we dropped that client and their pesky computer. Sorry I could not be more help.
@kaldag: I'm pretty sure I tried disabling the video hook driver without success.

viewer freezes with black screen
Hi all: Here is a weird situation. I have a Windows 2000 computer that has UltraVNC 1.0.2 Server running. When I try to connect to it using the viewer, I am prompted for the password, and after entering the correct password, I get the "please wait" text for a few seconds, then the viewer window goes ...

Good points. The new connection tab would be nice on the toolbar. Are there any UltraVNC fans out there that can make a nice icon for this? Who was it that made the nice icons for the logo and the green square with the eye? I would be tempted to scrap it and put a button in the menu bar. If we had a ...

Rudi: This viewer is great. There are a few things that bother me: - At launch, I maximize the container viewer to my 1280x1024 desktop (on a secondary display). When I connect to a server running 1024x768, the 1.12 container viewer shrinks down to the size of the server window. I would like it to ...

Guest, If you are concerned about security when leaving the server running, then maybe the server package isn't the correct package for you. You may want to configure a single-click package which would be much cleaner on the "server" end. But in the given scenario, if you want the server to stop ...

Accept/Reject option for listening viewer
This would be handy for me, since I have many remote machines configured with the UltraVNC server set to connect to my listening viewer upon reboot. Sometimes I have computers connect to me when I don't want them to. Would it be possible to create an Accept/Reject message on the listening viewer ...

I was going to ask the very same thing. Moderators, should this thread be moved to the bug section? It certainly would be nice to be able to fullscreen on a secondary display. As it is now, when attempting to fullscreen on a secondary display, the fullscreen bar appears on the primary display and ...

I though I would chime in here and relate what happened to me last week. On July 12th, someone tried to brute force their way onto one of my remote servers. I noticed because my application event log was full (Windows 2000 Server). Anyway, for over 11 hours, an average of three attempts per minute ...

viewer scaling maximum
I run 1280x1024 resolution on my workstation, and when I connect to a uvnc server running the same, the auto-scale feature brings the viewer down to 85%, so no scrolling is needed. This is nice. The thing I do not like about auto-scaling is that it will go above 100% if I connect to a uvnc server ...

vnchooks.dll file version
I have a batch file that installs/upgrades UltraVNC for computers on my LAN (I don't use the video driver). The batch first stops the service, deletes all files in the server's UltraVNC directory, then copies the files for the newer version from a network share, then applies a .reg file with the ...

little button near upper-right corner of viewer
OK, I looked around some and could not find an answer to this, so I have to ask. What is the deal with the little square button and the input form next to the red and green lights in the upper-righthand corner of the viewer window? Is in ONLY a faster way to launch another viewer (i.e. NO different ...

It is my understanding that the -autoreconnect switch is used in conjunction with the -connect switch when having a server "back-connect" to a listening viewer. I use it with a batch file for my clients that are behind a firewall that is not under my control. The batch file looks something like this ...
