PCHelpWare and Dial-Up Users

Post by RKCole »

Hello, everyone.

I do remote work on PCs for family and friends of mine back in Ohio (I just moved to California). So far I have had a great experience with PCHelpWare. (I hope that this is the right area for this type of post. If it is not I sincerely apologize.)

I have a friend who uses dial-up Internet service. I, myself, have Cable/High-Speed Internet service. Is it at all possible for me to connect to my friend's PC under these circumstances? If so, would it be the same type of configuration (i.e. I would create a server with Direct Connection and have the listen port set as 5500)?

Thanks very much for any input on this matter.

Please take care.

well you can try the quality low and do not use the ssl option. I did not have any success with dial up with single click.

i found PCHelpware too slow to control server with dial connection, then i use SCIII witout any protection (SSL or plugin) and it's fullspeed :D
