SC:client to permit remotecontrol/view only/filetransf

Post by domesdos »

Hello,
I love ultravnc and use it with some customers for remote desktop support.

The following things are extremely important for UltraVNC/SingleClick and/or PCHelpware. I write this because many of my customers have security concerns (DAU-related).
Definitions:
customer = person who wants to be helped
supporter = person who accesses the customers pc via remote desktop access

REQUEST1:
When the customer requests the Support-Session, he should be able to decide (by a click in his monitor), if the supporter can
a) only see his desktop
b) send keyboard/mouse commands
c) make file transfers

REQUEST2:
If the supporter starts a filetransfer, the customer must see a dialog box, in which
a) he can see: which file does the supporter want to download/upload
b) accept or deny the file transfer

REQUEST3:
Customers would feel better, if the supporter gives them a random keynumber on the phone, that has to be entered by the customer. Without the correct keynumber entered by the customer, the session can not be started.

REQUEST4:
In viewonly mode, the client should get at least a blinking arrow near the spot, where the supporter has clicked. This enables the supporter to guide the customers without the need of having full remote access/control rights.

I know that Ultravnc SC has all features, that it technically needs. But in daily life, the customers are afraid that we supporters steal their data. Therefore Ultravnc SC/Helpware should give the customer the complete control over what the supporter can do. The funny thing is: some customers don't care about internet security ... but as soon as they see, that I can move their mouse pointer, they are shocked and don't trust remote access software; but in the meanwhile they infect their PCs with spyware (which sometimes is remote control software too), but as they don't see the mousepointer moving, they are not aware of trojan dangers.

Many greetings from Germany,
dom
