Server scaling

Post by mykie »

I use Ultr@VNC daily to administer systems on my work network, and also to do work on my PC from home. The PC I have here at work has a rather small monitor, so I use the server-side scaling so that I can fit everything onto my monitor.

If I set the server scaling to 1/1, I have scrollbars because the remote is 1280x1024 (sometimes more, depending on the user), and my resolution is 1024x768. If I set the scaling to 1/2, then things are too small to see, so I set the scaling to 1/1.5, and things are nicely scaled.

The problem is, upon exiting, the default reverts back to 1/1. Could there be a way to set this as default?

Another method would be to have the server side screen change resolutions upon connect to a specified resolution in the client.

Either of these possible?
