VNC no Java?

Is it possible to have a VNC client that doesn't use Java? Perhaps a CGI script instead? I ask this because a lot of the computers I use do not have Java installed on them and, as a result, I cannot access my compter.

Can you use Single Click (SC) instead??? it doesnt use java..

Thanks for telling me that I didn't know. But unfortunatly no, I can't use executable files either. I am trying to remotely access my home computer from my College as it would be a huge advantage to be able to access all my work from college at home. I also run an online games server that require maintenance at times and I could use this to do that during my free periods.

I know that what I am asking for is awkward but I'll never know if I don't ask .

sorry I cant assist you more but I only use Ultra VNC 1.0.1 and SC.. I am sure that someone else will try to answer your post if they can..

Perhaps eventually there will be a web version of SC. The problem with computers on "public" networks is that they restrict everything from running exe files to using flash. However, CGI seems to work on all these networks, I know because I have an IRC channel and used a Java web client but then switched over to a CGI client so I could use it through protected networks.

Just thoguht I'd let you know that I've recently discovered that someone is working on a Flash VNC client. Whether it will work with UltraVNC or not is a different matter although I'm assuming that any/most VNC clients will connect to a UltraVNC server?
