Unlock remote workstation

Post by OldNESJunkie »

The ability to unlock a remote workstation once the service has started and the remote computer screen is visible. Feature from Atelier Web Remote Commander Pro, I;m sure UVNC could manage this as well when installed as a service.

Rudi,

Apologies, but I'm not sure you understood what I meant. Kinda crappy explanation on my part though. Basically when you remote into a workstation and it's sitting on the lock screen - I.E. the user has locked the workstation using Win+l or ctl-alt-del and choose 'Lock workstation
Currently there is no way for uVNC to unlock the screen unless you know the users password.
I'm not sure exactly how AWRCPro does it, but you can remote into a workstation and if it's sitting on the lock screen you can send an unlock command and get into their desktop without knowing their password. Useful for tech support where I am anyways as they will walk away sometimes when I'm already connected and lock the workstation and I have to wait for them to come back before I can finish up what I was working on...

I did find this a while ago, not sure if it would help:

Running as service you see the locked screen... natural you need to unlock it yourself.
The whole purpose of the screen lock is to lock it secure.

But..as admin
This computer is in use and has been locked.
Only or an administrator can unlock this computer.
Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to unlock this computer.
