I'm using SCIII to access headless appliances (i.e. no monitor can be attached as the video port is removed). My problem is that most (nearly all) of the appliances are behind HTTP(s) proxies, and I can''t figure out how to configure the appliance (running winvnc.exe) to use the HTTPS proxy.
One possible solution is to tunnel through the proxy via STunnel (or similar), but that's a lot of management to keep all that running smoothly. Is there basic Proxy negotiation in SCIII?
Here's how my setup looks:
I host the repeater on the internet, and run the "support" application (vncviewer_ssl.exe) for the support team to connect to the repeater. The "customer" application (winvnc.exe) is on the appliance and needs to get out of the environment using the proxy settings of the OS (or similar).
------------------
Here are my settings on the "customer" side:
[HOST]
Technical Support SSLPROXY
-id 1234 -sslproxy -connect my.server.co:443 -noregistry
------------------
It works GREAT... as long as no proxy is in the way, and it turns out that (nearly) all of the customers have some sort of proxy that needs to be dealt with.
Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ultra Supporter

Re: SC (III) HTTP(s) Through Proxy Server
Probably not going to happen? In UltraVNC per se at any rate:

Re: SC (III) HTTP(s) Through Proxy Server
vnc2me SC can be used with a putty profile, which allows tunneling through proxy servers, but it would need to be setup in advance, as it doesn't use the OS' proxy settings ...
