Windows 2008 support

Post by UVNCnewb »

Will this current version of UltraVNC work on Windows 2008 server? I don't see it mentioned anywhere but need to ask the question anyway.

If not, will the next version of UltraVNC work on Windows 2008 server?

I use it on w2008 (32bits) since 1.0.5.6 & is ok with Ctrl Alt Del when session in closed.
1.0.6 works well on w2008 (R2 also) even on x64 & Mirror Driver

version major and minor indicate the same OS :) as win7, 2008R2 is actual WIN7.

thank you for your responses...I will be installing this again on my 2008 server...the first time I ran it and then tried to connect using the viewer from a PC on my network I kept getting a message that the server hadn't set a valid password so I thought that maybe it was not meant to run on Windows 2008...

Sometimes passwd will not save from service...

In that case, use the uvnc_settings.exe to set it.

Hi Rudi,
Thank you for the message ... that fixed that particular issue...now I have another one...

the Windows 2008 server that I'm trying to connect to (which is now running the UltraVNC server) is a virtual machine. When I use the UltraVNC client to connect to it, I get the "Ctrl, Alt, Del" screen...I'm RDP'd into this VM onto the console and thought that the UltraVNC would connect to that window but I'm evidently mistaken...I don't know how to get this work...
