A few feature requests on the viewer

Post by Limahl »

I've been using UltraVNC for several revs now and I've found it a very mature remote control client over all other VNC's. There are a few features I would like to see however...

1. Ability to just bring up file transfer or chat without having the remote desktop viewer being up.

2. Ability to turn on/off prompting the user that a remote control session is about to take place by <user> and if they are to allow it or not.

3. Ability to remote reboot a workstation through the vnc client (ie. remote execute)

4. Ability to remote execute an application from a "Run" prompt of some sort.

Essentially, these are all features included in such major biggie apps like Landesk which is what we use, but I would much rather use VNC (cost savings and stability reasons), but would love to see the above features included in future releases.

You're not even a developer, shouldn't you leave this hot-key reply to someone that can actually make this decision?

the "run feature" would be useful there are lot of people like me that when using vnc through dialup connections prefer to use run instead of browsing and endless start menu list. about the prompting feature i think it's called "query on incoming connection" you find it in the vnc server options.
