Hi guys. I recently found out about ultravnc and wow.. what a great little program.. I love it and totally replaced RDP with it.. it's just great.
I am really curious to know how it performs on a GIG-E connexion too! so if anyone can tell me.. I'd love to know how much faster the FPS is compared to a regular 10/100 connexion.
Everyone wants to use UVNC for different reasons and mine is rather uncommon it seems.. wel I use it for GAMING~! ;p
Basically, I have my monster computer upstairs.. and wanted to play on my TV downstairs.. so I passed a long video/audio cable downstairs and that fixed part of the problem. Then I needed to be able to control it from downstairs.
UVNC allows me to do this beautifully.. almost perfectly. I use my laptop with a wi-fi to 'view' my upstairs computer and can control the mouse and keyboard this way while the video and sound is on my TV.. SWEET!
Here's my only problem.. when I am playing games.. my mouse movement becomes erradic and very laggy.. this is caused because of the mirroring on my laptop's screen.
I want to be able to turn off the video completely.. and only use UVNC for the mouse and keyboard input.. this way there will be no lag. I'd like to be able to swtich the video on and off at a click of a button.. or the change of an option. I just dont know which one to turn off.
How can I turn off the video completely? and end up with an 'inputs only' mode ?
thanks!!

view only? how about inputs only?
Re: view only? how about inputs only?
well just so you know.. I found a way to do this using another little software called Win2vnc.. it connects to the VNC server used by ultravnc so that was really easy to use. It's a really great lil plugin if you wanna call it that. It allows you to use your mouse and keyboard to control two computers.. but it does this with an incredible easy and transparency.. really worth a check
I wish this was added to future version of ultravnc
here's the sourceforge link to the program

As I posted here:

I too would like to be able to kill the video transmission. Slightly different objective, same solution.
So I second the suggestion to implement this feature, but in the meantime I'm taking a look at Win2VNC.
