It would be really helpful to know what the SEND and RECEIVE speeds are to spot network problems before they become a show-stopper.
I usually have the "status" windows (icon is an "!" mark in an orange circle) all the time. But I have noticed - after the fact - some network problems were not reflected in the "speed" display.
Makes me wonder what "speed" its showing?
Regardless, having separate Tx and Rx speeds showing current (last second?) and the last 60 second average would be really helpful.
I also watch the Tx and Rx byte counts too.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Show Tx and Rx speeds with current and average
The speed is the data send devided by a time to get it in /sec.
*no data send, no measurement
*info is also used to auto set the encoders, so we try to filter
very slow or very fast measurements, else the encoders would be continous
changing and resetting.

"Sent" from the Viewer? Which would be "received" by the remote server?Rudi De Vos wrote:The speed is the data send devided by a time to get it in /sec.

Which would explain why it stays blank until I get my initial screen.
Part of the problem is knowing if that initial screen is actually downloading, or the connection is still being (re)negotiated...
Or if the server has stopped sending data.

Re: Show Tx and Rx speeds with current and average
Possible we could activate the refresh after every shunk unitil the first update
cycle is done. Then you see the screen buildup, not that nice but at least you
now it's being transmitted. After first full cycle we redraw only after each run.
You can simulate this by moving the viewer window over the desktop borders
( forcing a redraw)

Ah, funny you should mention that. I used to drag around the "status" dialog to get it to update the window as it comes in. But that does not seem to work the last few revs.Rudi De Vos wrote: You can simulate this by moving the viewer window over the desktop borders
