Capture special keys
Capture special keys
First off, this isn't knocking UVNC, it's just an observation of one area that TightVNC does something better (and despite that I've still switched to UVNC ).
With TightVNC you can use the Windows key in the VNC window and it's sent to the remote system. This comes in handy for those of us who make heavy use of it.
Are there any plans to support this?
TIA

Right, all working in the end, mostly.
It is however a PITA to have to toggle scroll lock on and off to use the special keys, then if I want to send <CTRL><ALT><DEL> I have to toggle it off, and remember to toggle it on again...
Any chance of an option to map the special keys when the window has focus? I can understand that many people are probably happy with the current approach, but I'd like the option of not having to keep hitting scroll lock

Re: Capture special keys
Hi
I'm using UltraVNC 1.1.8.0 installed on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit.
I tried to control a machine with Windows 8 Enterprise 64 bit and I noticed that the its keyboard shortcuts (like Win+c, or Win+i or ...) does not work. How come? How do I fix this?
Thanks
Bye

Re: Capture special keys
This require the addons to be installed.
On win8 alt-tab and other winkey combinations can only be simulated by a seperate exe.

Re: Capture special keys
For win7 no special exe is needed.
Addons for win8 are not installed on win7
The request was for windows 8to control a machine with Windows 8 Enterprise 64

Re: Capture special keys
So, I can not understand one thing: if I should remotely control a computer that has windows 8 using a computer that has windows 7, how would I send to Windows 8 the Windows key sequences as Win+r?Rudi De Vos wrote:For win7 no special exe is needed. The request was for windows 8to control a machine with Windows 8 Enterprise 64
