If you are inside a LAN make sure your firewall is forwarding the correct port to your PC so that way it can work over the internet.

Jeff.

Inside lan it works just fine if I use the internal IP address of the computer. This tells me that inside it works fine.

However even though I have the port forwarded on my router for some unknown reason when requests are sent to my computer on that port.. it doesnt respond?! Over my dyndns ip of course.

I have checked this port forwarding by specifying my UVNC server address to 5500 and just tested to see if the server works with it, and it does. All I want to have to do is turn on the listener when I need to help someone and not have to make them install anything on their computer.. the whole idea behind SC...

The only thing I havent checked is putting myself on the dmz and checking to see if it still works...

But either way Im wondering if people are mainly using this over a LAN or WAN connection... I would assume more with WAN because internally you usually have rights on the computers you administer...

I use my mainly over a WAN connection. I am connecting to other users that are behind firewalls usually.
