make service delay start?

Post by bigdessert »

Any time we are using this and we have a laptop that is wireless, the chunckvnc starts before the wireless is connected when rebooting and this causes a window to initiate connection. Is there any way to install the service to verify internet connection first before it tries to connect to the repeater?

Interesting, I install the service on my customers wireless laptops all the time and reboot. I'll do some more testing while connecting wireless.

Does this happen on every computer you use on wireless?
Operating system?
Updated wireless drivers?

ChunkVNC 3.1 doesn't have it's own service it just installs the UltraVNC service. The initiate connection box comes up when UltraVNC can't connect to the repeater.

The next version has it's own service so I will be able to control this more.

This info might help you in the mean time:

Another thing to try, if you're using the wireless NIC vendor's drivers, is to try letting Windows' drivers/utilities (i.e., Wireless Zero Configuration) handle the wireless connection instead.

You might also consider requiring a logon screen (if you're not already) which will add a few more needed seconds to the startup sequence.
