Two Identical Setup of VNCs But The Other Is Slower

Post by chipmunk »

Hi,

I have set up two identical VNCs configurations to two establishments, same ISP, same speeds of 8 megabits each(load balanced from two ISPs), using load balancing router (two ISPs, 5 megabits+3megabits), using repeater on server computer(since its two internet cafes of 10 workstations and one server in each establishment), using XP 32bit systems powered by AMD X2 dual core CPUs with 1.5gig memory each and have integrated graphics.

I have noticed that the other one has slower, very timely delay, compared to the other where I only set up the same way I have done the other one.

Server computer of each has antivirus(but no firewall feature),surveillance program(of which I dont think it is the culprit since its installed on the two establisments), cafe timer program.

Will this could be caused by the performance of the router? Since I am using different brands, D-Link and Edimax. Where Edimax is the one who is having the slow VNC. Even if used with PCHelpWare which is direct conection using my free www.no-ip.com account, still slow compared to the other establisment.

Both used the 1.05 version but the repeater seems different. The repeater in the other establishment which has the D-Link router is from 1.02 version while the repeater I used in the Edimax router is a standalone version I get somewhere linked here in the forum. Might this be the culprit also? I am very confused.

EXPERTS, PLEASE HELP ME.

First of all, I'm really NOT an expert, just interested to dig into this probem and learn something.

Since the routers are connected to two ISPs, when the viewer(s) connect to the repeater(s), did you connect to the WAN IPs serviced by the same ISP in the two situation?

There may be some Load Balance Rule setting inside the routers. Are they the same?

hello =)

yes, i configured the two connecting in the same wan since different isp might give no good route and latency to other. configuration of load balance is 1-full load and 1-backup. where both of each full-load are the same isp. that is why i am so confused...
