Desktop resolution

Post by turtlejas »

UltraVNC is a great piece of software! Kudos to the developers.

I am connecting to a Vista Pc with a screen resolution of 1280x800. The viewer is on XP with a display of 1900x1200. I want to change the desktop size of the vnc server to 1900x1200, so that the viewer utilizes the full 1900x1200. I'm aware of the screen scaling options, but I want to change the native pixel resolution. It would be awesome if Unvc could change the desktop size up, and then put it back to the original resolution when disconnecting.

One way to accomplish this would be to uncheck "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" in the monitor settings, and then choose a higher resolution for the display. Resulting in a virtual scrolling desktop on the server. But, Vista (or the display driver) won't let me get to "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display"

Any ideas?
Thanks
