PChelpware suddenly not working anymore

I'm running Vista 64bit and up until recently pchelpware was working perfectly now when I run it I get "Read Failed" and the viewer application crashes. (sometimes it crashes without read error)
A few things I can think of that changed:
1. uninstalled ultravnc and installed the newests version 1.0.5
2. perhaps a vista update messed things up with PChelpware?

I'm using direct connection. Any thoughts?

edit: forgot to mention I have to hit the start button before it will crash or gives me read error.
