May be a lost cause but here is the situation.
Currently running with auth granted by a group in AD. By the way you guys (gals too, don’t want to start a gender issue here) rock for making that a feature who ever decided on that one. So back to the question, as the group in AD works great I am ready to push into a larger deployment as soon as I can overcome one obstacle. Some of the company are concerned that an admin might misuse UVNC and use it to spy on say the CFO, (now we all know that this is only for government use and that nobody spies on anyone unless you are a paranoid politician with a freezer full of money or something) anyways, I explained we can install the app and use local settings to have UVNC prompt user among other warnings (screen flash). “NOT GOOD ENOUGH†I need a solution that will log somewhere who (AD User) has used remote access to what pc.
Thanks in advanced,
I would rather be out riding my CR...

Re: Logging activity
UltraVNC was not intended to be used as spying tool. If you search the forums, you will find many users who have tried and failed to use it in that way.

Don't know if that makes your management feel any better.
You could also set it up to Query on incoming connection so they'd be prompted to allow the connection. If you go that route, you should set a timeout and change the default action to Accept in the event that they aren't there.

Re: Logging activity
This is great news, as I am not trying to spy. The question still remains (is it possible to log the auth onto the systems when it grants access using AD). Maybe the better questions is not so much a VNC but a server2k3 question, can i logg anytime a user is auth to a security group, such as (VNC_users) the name of a group in AD granting access to VNC clients? thanks if anyone knows, I will search for the answers on some server sites and report back here as i may not be the only one who wants to log access to VNC use on the domain....
Ride on.

Re: Logging activity
If you're talking about Windows servers only, you'd better take a look at the products specifically designed for Windows Server OSes, like RecordTS.
Also, you can enable firewall-based logging to log connection attempts to the specific network port.

Re: Logging activity
will look into that, thank you much...
