How I use tabbed_vncviewer_129

Post by dwetherington »

As an example; I have a school with 3 labs (Lib, RM104, RM105)of appx 30 computers each. My goal was to let various resource aids and librarians view the students screens in their particular area.

The only way around this that I have found (not being blessed as a programmer), was to load the server on each student station, then going to the, say in this example, the librarians desk and load the tabbed viewer. After choosing 'save session on exit", input each stations hostname and password. After all stations are inputed; I would exit the viewer and save the station files from the temp folder (where the tabber viewer puts the saved session files) and move them into a folder called LIB.

I would do this for each lab. And end up with 3 folders LIB, RM104 and RM105 with their respective .vnc files.

I then created a batch file for each Lab, that would clear the temp file then load the .vnc files from whichever lab directory the person wanted to view.

Feature request: If we could have an option to do this automatically, like the Save Favorite feature, but for batches of .vnc files.

Something like Save Session, then a pop up asking for a name. Then perhaps something like Load Previous Session, then a dropdown listing all the previous saved sessions.

That would make the tabbed_vncviewer_129 program complete.
