Any way to store password for the viewer?
Any way to store password for the viewer?
Is there a way to make the viewer remember passwords? I selected rather long passwords for my connections and it's inconvenient to enter them every time I start the viewer. The alternative is of course shorter passwords, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

Re: Any way to store password for the viewer?
well the viewer will display a connection window.
Be sure to fill out the alias and password fields.
along with your configuration settings and left click save
This method should save your password..

Re: Any way to store password for the viewer?
Does that work for you? What version do you run? I run 1.0 and that one just stores "passwd=2020" in the phw file, regardless of what password I enter.

Re: Any way to store password for the viewer?
seems to be I never have to re enter the password once I save the server settings in the viewer. I simply left click on the alias listed under the direct and repeater setting and tell the server to start at the bottom..

Re: Any way to store password for the viewer?
That's odd. If I do that, the viewer starts but the server can't connect to it. What does the "passwd" setting in your phw file say? Mine always says "2020" regardless of the password I set. I've tried re-entering it and clicking "Save" a couple of times to no avail.

Re: Any way to store password for the viewer?
I'm bumping this a bit; Does anyone have a "passwd" line in their phw file that says anything else than "2020"?

Re: Any way to store password for the viewer?
I have a password (quite long hex string) that starts with passwd=01000000D08C9DDF01.....xrvjorn wrote:I'm bumping this a bit; Does anyone have a "passwd" line in their phw file that says anything else than "2020"?
However, even with this encrypted? password stored I'm still forced to enter the password manually in the viewer window to get a successful connect.
Re: Any way to store password for the viewer?
I've found that any password over 7 chars in length is not saved.
Re: Any way to store password for the viewer?
only 7 and not at least 8 chars in the password. Interesting. I am wondering if case has anything to do with this problem. My passwords are all in lower case. I would also suspect special characters as well as a problem..
We need to have more feedback on this problem to isolate it as to the cause
